Moving in the right direction

Tuesday 10/2/18, Grace went for re-staging CT scans, which showed us what we were all hoping for. She is responding to the current treatment of chemotherapy/immunotherapy. There is a decrease in size of the left infrahilar mass and nodal metastases (see scans below). Additionally, the bone metastases show signs of treatment response. However, she did develop a small pulmonary embolism in one of the segmental branches for which she will be started on eliquis for at least 6 months. This does not come as a total surprise to us, because her cancer and chemotherapy both carry the risk of causing blood clots. All-in-all, we feel very blessed by the results and are hopeful that God will work a miracle in Grace.
Regarding treatment, the positive results mean that we will not need to relocate to Houston and immediately jump into a clinical trial. Grace will continue her current regimen of chemotherapy/immunotherapy, and she will receive her third cycle this Monday, 10/8/18. I anticipate that she will receive a total of four cycles, at which point we will re-evaluate and enroll in a local clinical trial. However, we have not yet had the opportunity to sit down with the oncologists and establish a plan since receiving the positive news from the CT scans.
Thank you to everyone who has been following along and for the support through all of this. It has been such a blessing to have so many family and friends stand by us in such a variety of different ways.
Images are blurry, but the large lymph node in her chest decreased from 1.8cm to 0.7cm.
